An actress, singer, model, and dancer, Zendaya has a new vocation to add onto her ever-growing list – spokeswoman for Covergirl, a drugstore make-up brand that has a history of using powerful (and diverse) women to represent their lines.
Easy, Breezy, DIVERSITY!
A few of Covergirl’s diverse and beautiful past ambassadors include:
- Ellen DeGeneres
- Sofia Vergara
- Janelle Monáe
- Queen Latifah
- Katy Perry
And now, we can add Zendaya onto the list!
Zendaya is known for being a proud feminist. In addition to supporting the cause of universal female equality, she strives to eliminate the negative connotation of the word “feminism”. To Zendaya, “a feminist is a person who believes in the power of women just as much as they believe in the power of anyone else. It’s equality, it’s fairness, and I think it’s a great thing to be a part of.”
THANK YOU ZENDAYA!
If you’re familiar with Zendaya, then you might know that she not only preaches female independence but she also practices it. With such a spotlight-heavy career, Zendaya undoubtedly has dozens of professional opinions thrown into her face every day. But unlike most celebrities, Zendaya refutes the orders and makes her career choices on her own. “If my stuff sucks, then at least I made it suck. I didn’t allow some person, some old dude in a suit, to make it suck for me,” Zendaya declares.
We’re happy to hear Zendaya is willing to take full responsibility for her losses and her wins!
It’s clear Zendaya is strong and independent – a recipe that creates the perfect Covergirl! In fact, at the recent 2016 Grammy Award Show, she did her own makeup look using Covergirl products, and she looked amazing!
It’s refreshing to see young women in the limelight making a name for themselves. Keep rocking it Zendaya!
