If someone in your life is belittling you or your dream, you need to remind yourself to believe in you—even when others might not. Easier said than done, I know (if I had a dollar for every person who said R5 would never go anywhere, I’d have so many dollars!). When I was struggling to stay pumped, here are a few things that made staying positive a little easier….
Be grateful. Sometimes bullies can make you feel like you’re not good enough or you’ll never be able to do what you want to accomplish. Instead of listening to them, take stock of all that you have in your life: your family, your friends, your talent, your morals, your beliefs. Make time to be thankful for everything you have.

Talk to a parent, friend or someone else who believes in you. If there’s someone who is giving you hate, search out someone who’ll give you love instead. Sadly, there will probably always be people who aren’t cheering for you—but there are also people who are. Find someone who cares about you and who roots for you, and let them remind you why you’re great.
My dad always said that the secret to life is this: “You get what you think about.” When you’re focused on a task, you complete it. When you keep your goals in mind, you reach them. Sure, it’s not always quite as simple as that, but visualizing what you want is the first step.
Take a break. When things get hard, sometimes all you need is to step away and take a deep breath. Some days, instead of tirelessly plowing through everything I have to do, I’ll grab a nap, call my BFF Lori or go for a walk outside. Just because you need to dedicate time to your goals doesn’t mean you have to give them all your time. When you take a little breather, you can come back feeling refreshed, re-energized and ready to get to work.
Bake something. This might sound silly, but trust me on this! If you’re struggling with doubts, baking is a fast way to remind yourself that a little work—and focus—can produce something really awesome (like the perfect cake). Once you’ve got that proof in hand, it’ll be easier to remember that the same goes for your goals (and, hey, you’ll also have a super yummy snack).

Boxed cake mix
1. Prepare your fave boxed cake (I like vanilla), using mix, oil and eggs.
2. Bake the cake, then let it sit for two hours to cool completely.
3. “Ice” the cake with Cool Whip.
4. Arrange strawberries and blueberries into the stars and stripes of the American flag. Enjoy!
